#1 FAQ: Do you take insurance?

NO

Orofacial myofunctional therapists are not in network with any insurance company, and so, orofacial myofunctional therapy is not covered well by insurance largely because it is an emerging field and most insurance companies are not aware of it. I recommend you speak with your insurer to get clarity on what they will cover. Please note that myofunctional therapy is billed UNDER MEDICAL, NOT DENTAL insurance. However, I can provide you with a  Superbill for $150 AFTER your treatment plan has been completed, which may help you get reimbursed. I cannot supply Superbills after each session or after the initial evaluation because you must show your insurer that you have already undergone treatment for which you are requesting reimbursement. Once our course together is completed, I will create a log of treatments and medical codes for each appointment, and that will be the superbill you will send to your medical insurance company.

Important: If you are seeing your doctor (or oral surgeon) for conditions associated with a potential or already identified orofacial myofunctional disorder(s), request from them a “letter of medical necessity” for orofacial myofunctional therapy to increase your chances of reimbursement which then you can attach to your Superbill. Receiving an official medical diagnosis from your doctor for any condition that relates to the orofacial or pharyngeal muscles (sleep apnoea, oral respiration, dysphagia, aspiration, tongue tie, asthma, tonsillitis, rhinitis, Bell’s Palsy) may prove a medical need for orofacial myofunctional therapy, breathing reeducation, reflex pattern integration and nonnutritive oral habit elimination.
